An Analysis of Kinds of Bullying and Their Impacts Reflected in the Novel Carrie by Stephen King
ABSTRAKSI :
This research is about bullying that Carrie received as a main character in Stephen King’s novel Carrie (1974). The purposes of the research are to find out the bullying action that Carrie received using Sejiwa’s kinds of bullying and the impacts of bullying that the character received using Sejiwa’s kinds of impact of bullying. This research uses qualitative-descriptive methods. The source of data is a novel entitled Carrie by Stephen King. Based on this analysis, the data shows that bullying actions received by Carrie as a main character include: physical bullying that are punching and destroying the belongings of the oppressed child, verbal bullying that is nickname joking and psychic bullying that is harsh body language. The researcher also find out the impacts of bullying on Carrie which include: academic impact that is skipping school, social impact that are not confident and difficult to get along, and psychological impact that is having revenge.
