THE EXPERIENTIAL STRUCTURE OF ENGLISH NOMINAL GROUP IN A NOVEL LITTLE VILLAGE SCHOOL (THE SCHOOL INSPECTOR CALL)
ABSTRAKSI :
ABSTRACT Nadra Mumtaz Amini. An Experiential Structure Of English Nominal Group In a Novel A Little Village School (The School Inspector Call!). A Scientific Writing. English Department Faculty of Letters and Cultures. Gunadarma University. Jakarta 2019. This research is an experiential structure of English nominal group in a novel A Little Village School (The School Inspector Call!) using Systemic Functional Linguistic (SFL) approach. The purpose of this research are to identify the English experiential structures in the novel A Little Village School (The School Inspector Call!) and to find out a common English experiential structures in the novel. A Little Village School (The School Inspector Call!).The theory that being used was theory of Nominal Group proposed by Halliday and Matthienssen in the book entitled Introduction to Functional Grammar the fourth edition. This research employed a qualitative study. The data are taken from novel A Little Village School (The School Inspector Call!) that written by Gervase Phinn. Out of 100 data, the findings show that a total of 12 kinds of experiential structure, those are : (1). Deictic followed by classifier and thing, (2). Deictic followed by thing and qualifier, (3). Deictic followed by classifier, thing and qualifier, (4). Deictic followed by epithet classifier and thing, (5). Deictic followed by epithet, classifier, thing and qualifier, (6). Epithet followed classifier and thing, (7). Epithet followed by classifier, thing and qualifier, (8). Classifier followed by thing and qualifier, (9). Thing followed by qualifier, (10). Classifier followed by thing, (11). Deictic followed by numerative, thing and qualifier, (12). Numerative followed by epithet, classifier, thing and qualifier.
