Alwiyah Maulidiyah ISSN 2528-4142 Vol.1 No.1 · 0000

Abstrak

This research aimed to examine the relationship between parental career-related behaviors (i.e.
support, interference, and lack of engagement) categorized from mother or father and career
adaptability (i.e. career concern, control, curiosity, and confidence) in Indonesia undergraduate
students. Parental career-related behaviors are measured by parental career-related behaviors
inventory and career adaptability is measured by International version of Career Adapt-Abilities Scale
(CAAS) that has been adapted to Indonesian. Offline and online questionnaires were distributed to
365 undergraduate students. Based on multiple regression analysis, result showed that parental
support significantly predicted career concern in final-year student (F (4,362) = 3,636, p<.05,
R2=0,020), but the other dimensions of career adaptability were not significantly predicted. On the
other side, parental interference and parental lack of engagement were not significantly predicting
career adaptability. This result also showed that there was difference between father and mothers
support, interference, and lack of engagement.
