| Abstraksi | : | The public is not reticent to express their feeling through various media. The present studyaimed at describing the activity of Indonesian National Police Public Relation Division inimproving police image by conducting a case study on Public relation division of MadiunCity Police. This study was classified as a qualitative study with a case study design. Thedata collection technique of the study was interview as the primary source of data.The sample of the study was the participants from Public Relation Division of Madiun City Policeand the representatives from various groups of society Purposive sampling technique wasemployed since the present study selected its sample based on the particular characteristicso that the chosen samples were able to provide information in accord with the purpose ofthe study Meanwhile, the present study employed Miles and Huberman analysis technique inorder to analyze its data, started by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Theresult of the study showed that the Public Relations Division and all personnel of Madiun CityPolice had been good in conducting various activities regarding public relation.While, police image was viewed from the entire police activities in performing its mainduties and functions. Almost all participants agreed that there had been an imageimprovement. However, about professionalism and disciplines, almost all participantswere still disappointed by the actions that were often inappropriate. Whereas, the societyrealized that such actions were not committed by all police officers, such actions wereonly committed by irresponsible police officers. In sum, The Public Relation Division andall personnel of Madiun City Police had been successful enough in improving their image. |
