| Abstraksi | : | This article is portraying the establishment of learning community in the Teacher Learning Centre (TLC) Karawang. TLC is a resource centre at sub-national level conceptualized by PT. HM. Sampoerna Tbk and implemented by School of Development Outreach, Sampoerna Foundation in 3 district Karawang (West Java), Pasuruan dan Surabaya (East Java). The aim of TLC is to provide learning resources and facilties for educators. By providing teacher learning centre, educators are able to build a learning community in Karawang area. Teachers, principals, supervisors and officer from District Education Office in Karawang were involved in interviews and surveys. The result shown that TLC Karawang activities indicates development in teachers professional competences. Teachers utilized TLC for activities such as workshops, subject taught working groups, meetings etc. Support is also given by principals and supervisors toward teachers to be involved in TLC activities. There was limited eveidence on the influence of teacher involvement on students learning. |
