Abstraksi:Propolis is a resinous substance collected by stingless bee or honey bee from various plants, possesses various physiological activities such as antioxidant, apoptosis induction, and anticancer, The objectives of this study were to determine the best condition of propolis extraction and to characterize its properties as antibreastcancer agents, Extraction was conducted by using maceration with microwave-assisted ethanol maceration on 10, 20, and 30 minutes of exposure, Thirteen propolis samples originated from Pandeglang, Banten Indonesia were used for apoptosis inducers assays by Saccharomyces cerevisiae method, and the results determined by Response Surface Methodology (RSM), The best extraction time and propolis solvent ratio obtained for apoptosis induction was 27 minutes and 20, repectively, and in this condition, the yield was 12,67%. Moreover, the propolis extract exposed an antioxidizing activity with inhibitory concentration (IC50), for Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF-7) cancer cell line, and value of apoptosis induced S. cerevisiae cell of 75.34 ug.ml., 233 ug.ml:, and 6.015 mg.ml:, respectively. In a in-vivo efficacy test against cancer cells due after induction of 7. 12-dimethyl-benz(a)anthracene (DMBA) showed that concentrations of propolis 233 ug.ml: could heal damaged tumor tissue.
