| Abstraksi | : | Grass block is an alternative of pavement which include to the group of paving block. The structure of a grass block has holes to be filled by the soil and grasses. So that, it is permeable for absorbing water that flow on the grass block pavement. For displaying efectivity of grass block to reduce the discharge of surface runoff that caused by land covering using impermeable pavement, need a research about surface runoff coefficient of grass block. On this research, surface runoff coefficient of grass block is analized based on the influence of rainfall intensity, slope of land, and rainfall duration. The influence of rainfall intensity, slope of land, and rainfall duration research to the grass block's surface runoff coefficient is conducted with the apparatus simulator of rainfall, called rainfall hydrograps at laboratory. The variation of rainfall intensity that used are 51 mm/ hour, 98 mm/ hour, and 109 mm/ hour. The slope of land that used are 2 %, 4 %, 7 %, and 10 %. The rainfall duration that used are 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes. The result of this research displays that the value of grass block's surface runoff coefficient is around 0.04 – 0.60. The grass block's surface runoff coefficient value is smaller than other's pavement surface runoff coefficient such as paving block (0.50 – 0.70), asphalt, and concrete (0.70 – 0.95). Because of that, the grass block pavement is the effective pavement to reduce surface runoff discharge and increase groundwater supply. So that, we can avoid flood on rainy season and dryness on dry season especially in urban area. |
