| Abstraksi | : | The J-Curve phenomenon is the condition when a currency depreciation results in an initial deterioration of the trade balance before improving it. This paper attempts to find evidence of a J-Curve phenomenon on Indonesia trade balance as a result of the major depreciation of the Rupiah during the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997. We find no evidence of a deterioration on the trade balance after the Rupiah depreciation, and the adjustment on Indonesia trade balance occurred instantaneously |
