| Abstraksi | : | The construction of Sabo structures is hoped to cope with lava flow and to restore sedment. Sediment mining requires a proper management to maintain that activity will only give benefit and not the opposite. Therefore, a study about the sediment balance of the rivers at the Mt.Merapi slope is required. The location of this study is the Sabo structures of Boyong River (BOD 7, BOD 6, BOD 5 and BOD 4). The obtain the discription of sediment balance, optimization model and simulation (linier programming), which are based on network flow model that consists of nodes and arcs (Network Flow Programming), are applied. These nodes show the sediment mining volumes and sediment supply. The objective function is maximun revenues of sediment mining. The areal rainfall factor used is the maximum daily rainfall out of 4 (four) days serial with 60 mm accumulation. The simulation results show that the sediment balance occurs. It means there are inflow, outflow (sediment supply downstream flows) and mining, in the condition of initial storage 100 % (full) (BOD 7, BOD 6, BOD 5 and BOD 4), with maximum mining volume of 703.866 m3 in the period of November 1997 to April 1998. The mining volume limit Is 726.860 m3 with the condition of half-full (50%) initial storage. |
