Abstraksi:The Boyolali District Government is one of the districts in Central Java which is developingthe development by establishing "Boyolali smart city" in accordance with the BoyolaliRegional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) 2016-2021, by establishing the visionof "Building Boyolali is more Advanced and Technological". The purpose of this study is tofind out how the city branding Boyolali smart city communication in E-Government serviceprogram in Boyolali distric. City Branding is one of the city and district marketing conceptsas a product. Related branding Boyolali district as intelligent district, Diskominfo Boyolalidistrict government in melalukan marketing through communication activities. This studyaims to find out how branding communication is done based on the theory Mikhail Kavaratzis(in Yananda and Salamah,2014). This theory illustrates how brands communicate throughchoice and appropriate treatment, functional or symbolic meaning. These communicationactivities, consisting of primary communication, secondary communication, and tertiarycommunication.This research is a type of qualitative research using descriptive method. Data collectiontechniques use in-depth interview techniques as the primary data source. The samplesused in this research are informants from Diskominfo related to the Field of E-GovernmentImplementation and Information and Public Communication Field. The conclusion ofthe above research is Diskominfo related to the Field of E-Gov Implementation andInformation and Communication Field of the public has conducted communication activitiesto support the activities of city branding Kabupaten Boyolali as "Boyolali Smart City". Ittakes cooperation from all parties, although it has different responsibilities but cooperationbetween both parties runs well in branding activity, does not stop at the name of brandingonly, from both side also give realization to realize Boyolali district as Boyolali smart city.
