Abstraksi:Music is one communication medium that can be used as a means to convey an idea andsocial criticism through a series of lyrics that exist. Songs are produced by musicians oftenslip a message and a certain meaning laden with an offensive ideology of life and socialproblems. This study aimed to dissect the meaning of the song contained in the lyricsof Sembojan song by Tigapagi band representing human rights violations in Indonesiaespecially in the mass murder of 1965-1966. The theory in this research is using semioticanalysis developed by Roland Barthes.The method in this research is using descriptive qualitative. Meanwhile, to dissect the meaningof the song lyrics using Roland Barthes semiotics theory that seeks the meaning of denotation,connotation, and myth. The data in this research is using document and archive study. Validityof data in this research is using triangulation data. The analytical technique in this study isusing semiotics analysis of two-order of significationby Roland Barthes.The results of this research show that the meaning in the song Sembojan by Tigapagi isdivided into two verses. The first part is about the 1965-1966 mass murder case and inthe second part the song tells the invitation to the community to fight for their rights andjustice for them. As for the ideological values that are tried to be conveyed in this song, it isabout the straightening of history and stereotyped disappearances of former members ofthe Indonesian Communist Party. Submission of messages in the lyrics is also supportedby the pattern of chord play and the tempo of music that strengthens emotions in songs.
