| Abstraksi | : | Reactions of 2-amino-4, 5-dimethoxyacetophenone (3) with phenacyibro- mides in N,N’-dimethylformamide were investigated in attempt to synthesise new2-acylindoles (6, 8b). The reaction clearly gave new 2-aryl-5, 6-dimethoxy-3-methy-lindoles (7,9). Their structures were determined using NMR and mass spectros-copy.
