| Abstraksi | : | Character education aims at teaching students on how to decide based on principles and values and not a list of directions. In order to reach the goals and success of char- acter education teaching, the effective and understandable media can be implemented and one of them is reading litera- ture. In this paper, two novels are taken as examples; there are Uncle Toms Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stove and Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. Literature is able to be used as a medium in character education teaching but it will be useless if government has no cultural strategic. |
