| Abstraksi | : | Rivers or drainage canals improvement which often implemented are formed by widening and deepening the river/ canal bodies. The next activities after dredging the sludge of the riverbed are removing and dumping the sludge to its disposal area. If the sludge are not polluted, there is no problem; but if it is heavy polluted especially by heavy metals, there- is the problem. The sludge needs to be treated first before dumping to the disposal place to prevent from any poisoned to the environment around the disposal area in the future that caused by toxic sediment. The case study for the analysis was leaching test and treatment test for the sediment of the canals in Phnom Penh — Cambodia, while the reference using for the analysis was the analysis and treatment tests of the sediment from drainage canals in Semarang — Indonesia. The aim of the analysis would detect heavy metals, contained to the sludge and find out the treatment method needed. One of some heavy metals which analyzed for this purpose was Alkyl Mercury as the most serious Mercury toxin, and the chosen treatment method in this case for the metal detected samples was cement material in various ratios. |
