| Abstraksi | : | Cognition is usually described as a cold process, in contrast emotion is described as a hot process. However, the conventional pictures of both psychological phenomena are not accurate. This paper reviews the effects of emotion on memory in two major routes of research projects, namely mood-congruent and mood-state dependent. How to assess and manipulate participants' mood in a psychological experiment are also discussed. Finally, the paper explicates four theories concerning the effects of emotion on memory. |
