Abstraksi:Weld steel SPHC (Steel Plate Hot Coil) for engine mounting was studied in this esearch. Steel plates of 2,9 and 3,2 mm thickness were cut and pressed into 'he parts of an engine mounting. All parts were assembled to become an -ngine mounting by COZ gas arc welding under 180A current. Electrode wire used was welding wire MG 51-T The weld steels then were cut into 3 types as a weld two plates stick together (sample 1), a weld two plates with angle close 90 (sample 2 and 4), and welds two plates with angle between 60 and 90 (sample 3). Through optical microscope, it was identified that all weld steels consisted of base steel, heat effected and fusion zone. Base steel, SPHC steel, consisted of ferrite equaxed and pearlite grains, heat affected zone was composed by long and large grains of ferrite and fusion zone was composed by marten site as main phase and ferrite. The hardness of steel with 2,9 mm thick was about 150,6 Hv and the steel with 3,2 mm in mid, right and left sides, and top position respectively had 292,5-351,8 Hv, 158,4-175,8 Hv and 161,1¬206,2 Hv. The hardest was found in the fusion zone, followed by HAZ and base steel zones.
