| Abstraksi | : | As we know that Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE) is not efficient, or efficient in weak for therefore it is not similar the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or the Nikei Stock Exhange. If the JSE is not efficient or efficient in weak form; some of the information about the companies' prospect is not accessible for the investors. This condition is called assymetrical information between company executive and investors. This study was intended to test wether investors react positively upon financing strategy that has taken by the listing companies in Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE) during the normal period of the Indonesian Economy (1995-1997 and 1999-2004). The subjects of this study were the investors' reaction agains the financing strategy in Jakarta Stock Exchange. The purpose of this research is to explain the investors' positively reaction againts the financing strategy. The sample frame is listing companies in the Jakarta Stock Exchange in the two periods: years 1995-1997 and years 1999-2004. The research used purposive sampling. The research instrument are the abnormal return and the variance of trading volume as parameters. The results show that in the normal economy condition, even in Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE), the investors react positively againts financing strategy. The strategy convinced investors that the companies used financing strategy based on a good prospect about cashflows. Therefore, financing strategy is one of the best way to send a good signal to the investors |
