AN ANALYSIS OF PERSONALITY OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN CRUELLA MOVIE
ABSTRAKSI :
Psychoanalysis plays an important role in literature, especially in movies, because the characterization of a character can be found in real life. The purpose of this study was to find out the suitability between the personality of the (id and ego) and the (ego and superego) of the main character in the movie Cruella based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of this study are: Estella's id appears as a desire for revenge that can satisfy her. The ego in Estella aims to relieve anxiety, regret, and revenge because the ego relates and acts directly in the real world for the wishes of the id. Not only that, Estella's ego also balances the needs of the surrounding reality with the help of the superego. The superego, in the form of a conscience, controls Estella's attitudes and behavior.
