AN ANALYSIS OF SLANG WORDS IN HARLEY QUINN: BIRDS OF PREY MOVIE
ABSTRAKSI :
Slang is a non-standard informal vocabulary. The problem of this research is to find out about slang words used in conversation in Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey movie based on Allan and Burridge's theory. The objective of this research is to find out the answers to slang words used in conversation in the Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey movie based on Allan and Burridge’s theory. This research uses a descriptive method according to Surakhmad's theory, search techniques, collection, classification, data analysis, interpretation, and conclusions. This research found 5 types of slang according to Allan and Burridge’s theory, namely Fresh & Creative (14), Flippant (19), Imitative (11), Acronym (2), and Clipping (1). The total data is 47 slang words, but only 21 words are analyzed. The writer hopes that this research can provide knowledge and inspiration for readers to analyze other than slang words used in research.
