an Analysis of the Main Character Personality Traits of Joe Gardner in the Animated Movie Entitled Soul (2020)
ABSTRAKSI :
This research explored the personality traits of Joe Gardner, the main character in the movie Soul. The problem of this research is what are the main character of Joe Gardner personality traits portrayed in the movie Soul are based on the theory by Costa and McCrae. This research aims to find out Joe Gardner’s personality traits in the movie Soul based on the theory by Costa and McCrae. Big Five Personality is a collection of domains from a variety of specific cognitive, affective, and behavioral tendencies grouped into five domains namely Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism. This research used a qualitative method. The result of this research found 20 data from 5 types of personality traits by Costa and McCrae namely, Openness to Experience 3 data high-level, Conscientiousness 5 data high-level, Extraversion 3 data high-level and 1 data low-level, Agreeableness 5 data high-level, and Neuroticism 3 data high-level in Joe Gardner’s character.
