FIGURATIVE LANGUAGES IN SONG LYRICS OF 0.1 FLAWS AND ALL ALBUM BY WAVE TO EARTH
ABSTRAKSI :
Figurative language is defined as language that uses figurative terms with meanings which differ from their literal meaning. The importance of analyzing figurative language is to know more about the meaning behind the song lyrics. The objective of this research was to identify the kind of figurative language and to identify the most dominant type of figurative language found in 0.1 flaws and all album by wave to earth. The researcher used qualitative method for this research. Furthermore, the researcher uses the theory of Perrine as a method of the research. The results of this research showed that there are 6 out of 12 figurative languages with a total of 21 data, those are simile (4 data), personification (2 data), hyperbole (7 data), metaphor (5 data), paradox (1 data), symbol (2 data). The most dominant type of figurative language is hyperbole with 7 data.
