MARTIN PSYCHOPATH PROBLEM IN THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2

ABSTRACT Salshabila Ceacilia Ashari, MARTIN PSYCHOPATH PROBLEM IN THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE 2. A Scientific Writing. English Department. Faculty of Letters and Cultures. Gunadarma University. Jakarta. 2020 _____________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT This research is about psychological problem of the main character in The Human Centipede 2 film. The problem of this research is to find Martin characteristics and his psychopath problem through Freud’s psychoanalysis theory. The writer used descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken from the film. The writer found the characteristics of Martin are lack of empathy, lie, lack of remorse, and guilty feeling, impulsive and aggressive. Relate to Sigmund Freud theory: id, ego, and superego. The id is about torturing. His ego is to bridge his id into the reality, so he needs a victim to satisfy his id. The last superego is about morality principle and it works go along with ego. He must hide his dark side toward to the society. The problem that caused Martin psychopath is due to his big id because the trauma of childhood, his id became the dominant one than his ego and superego.
