NARRATIVE FUNCTION ANALYSIS IT ENDS WITH US NOVEL BY COLLEEN HOOVER
ABSTRAKSI :
The objectives of this research are to find out what and how narrative functions and sphere of actions occurs in the novel It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover, published in 2016. The research used qualitative method. In doing so, the research employs narrative functions and sphere of actions theories as tools of analysis. The result of the research found 12 out of 31 narrative function which includes: the initial situation, absentation, interdiction, violation, delivery, villainy, departure, returns, complicity, struggle, exposure and punishment. The narrative functions showed through the form of monologue and dialogue. For the result of sphere of actions, the researcher found 3 out of 7 sphere of action which include; the hero, the villain and the false hero. The sphere of actions also showed through the form of monologue and dialogue.
