REPRESENTATION OF BLONDE STEREOTYPES ON KAREN SMITH'S CHARACTER IN MEAN GIRLS MOVIE
ABSTRAKSI :
The objectives of this research is to find out what stereotypes that represent on Karen Smith’s character in Mean Girls movie. Karen Smith’s character represents as a dumb blonde girl. Women with blonde hair are often considered beautiful, but dumb, which is a harmful stereotype statement. Dumb blonde stereotypes has been plagued humanity for a long time. This research used qualitative descriptive analysis method since it describing the phenomena by represented the character. The data were in from the conversation of the characters, the action, and the statement in Karen Smith’s in Mean Girls Movie. The result of this research showed there are 18 data that represent the blonde stereotypes of Karen Smith’s character. The result used theory of blonde stereotypes. It can be concluded that character of Karen Smith is a dumb blonde
