The Indonesian Translation of English Word That
ABSTRAKSI :
ABSTRACT Nazela Nursiska. The Indonesian Translation of English Word That. A Project: English Department. Gunadarma University. Jakarta, August 2011. The English word that has several meanings in Indonesian. In some different sentences the word that can not be translated into only one meaning. It possible that the meaning of that in a sentence is different from another sentence. The problem the research is what are the translations of the English word that into Indonesian. The aim of the research paper is to find out the translation of the English word that into Indonesian. The writer uses Descriptive method as the method of the research. The theories are taken from some books which are related to the topic. The result in this research, the writer found that the English word that has several function, which are : As a demonstrative pronoun are; As a relative or conjunctive pronoun; and As a conjunction. Referring to its function, that also has several different meanings if it is translated into Indonesian. That can be translated into itu, yang, and bahwa. Key words : Translation; English word that.
