An Analysis of Directive Illocutionary Act Uttered by Hardin Scott In After (2019) Movie
ABSTRAKSI :
Directive illocutionary acts are speech acts that make the hearer do something as a result of the speaker's statement. The aim of this research is to find out the directive illocutionary acts in Hardin Scott’s utterances in After (2019) movie. This research used the theory of directive illocutionary acts proposed by Searle (1979). The method of this research is used qualitative method. The results of this research showed there were 66 data of directive illocutionary acts within 5 types of directive illocutionary acts which were asking, requesting, ordering, suggesting, and forbidding based on Searle’s theory. Each type in the directive illocutionary acts that have been mentioned are: fortyfour (44) or 66.67
