AN ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGE STYLE USED BY THE CHARACTERS IN ARE YOU THERE GOD? IT’S ME, MARGARET MOVIE SCRIPT
ABSTRAKSI :
The purpose of this research is: 1) to identify the types of language styles used in Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret movie 2) to describe the factors affecting the characters in using different language styles in Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret movie and 3) to find out the dominant type of language style used by the characters in Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret movie. This research uses a descriptive qualitative methods based on Martin Joos’s theory with Janet Holmes’s theory. From the analysis, the researcher found 52 data containing language style. The researcher finds all kinds of language styles. They were 1 or 2
